DISMISSAL OF ELECTED OFFICIALS: Larissa, 29 - Yesterday’s session of the municipal council to elect a new mayor of Larissa was canceled following the announcement of a ministerial decree dismissing 11 municipal councilors and appointing 11 replacements. Those who were dismissed sent a telegram of protest to the government. Those remaining on the council, and who belong to the same political group as those dismissed, declared their solidarity with their colleagues. QUESTION: Parliamentary deputies Messrs I. Riziotis and C. Korakas have tabled a question in Parliament asking Interior Minister Pafsanias Lykourezos why he illegally removed 11 municipal councilors from their posts in the municipality of Larissa and replaced them with non-elected officials.
