Stocks end long losing streak

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) benchmark general index rose yesterday for the first time in 13 days, ending the worst losing streak since 1992. The gauge gained 102.52, or 2.9 percent, to 3,584.53 points.

The FTSE/ATHEX 20 index of the country’s biggest companies climbed 3.5 percent to 1,922.71 points.

Coca-Cola HBC fell to its lowest since November 2006, losing 27 cents, or 1.5 percent, to –18.28. National P&K cut its share-price estimate for the world’s second-biggest bottler of Coke drinks to –22 from –29. Metka climbed the most since April 1, adding 64 cents, or 4.8 percent, to –14.04.

Turnover eased to 347 million euros from 411 million in the previous session. (Bloomberg, Kathimerini)
