EDITORIAL
PASOK crosses the line
It's less than two weeks from the elections and the political stage has already been seized by polarizing rhetoric. To some extent, this was only to be expected, as the two main parties stake everything ahead of the ballot. Heavy rhetoric is one thing but poison-tipped barbs that discredit the country's institutions is quite another.
COMMENTARY
The unknown factor
The most unpredictable ballot since 1974 awaits an electorate that has grown deeply disillusioned with the current political formations. Disenchantment is rooted in society: It expresses the discrepancy between public expectations and political management. Politicians cannot grasp people's needs and desires.
OPINION
Time to create a law-abiding state
A week of biblical-scale destruction did not simply expose the inadequacy of the state machine but it signaled the total depletion of the political system that has existed since the restoration of democracy in 1974 with the fall of the military dictatorship.
