Half-baked
It is common knowledge that the quality of a country's education system largely determines its degree of cultural development and its economic well-being. Human capital is now considered to be the most important and productive target of investment. But although everyone seems to be talking about the «information society,» Greece is still dogged by unacceptable delays in that sector. Moreover, our country holds yet another record in an unusual category: that of half-baked graduates.
COMMENTARY
Government shake-up?
A government never lets on when a reshuffle or a devaluation of the drachma is imminent, journalists used to say, pointing out that such moves were meant to take people by surprise. Since then the drachma has been relegated to the history books, while the prime minister has denied so strenuously that a Cabinet shake-up is imminent that we are still left wondering.=
