US voters want a change of course
United States President George W. Bush governed without paying heed to criticism, whether that came from administration officials or the international community. Bush's go-it-alone posturing left its mark on the administration. On a domestic level, the US adopted a deeply conservative policy line while its foreign policy agenda threatened the foundations of the post-war order.
COMMENTARY
Long-term hostages
Working under contract for 15 to 20 years at the same post, meeting what are known as «permanent and ongoing needs» is not exactly job security. Nor is it the most honest approach on the part of an employer. Now you know: the term «contract worker» is merely a more subtle way of saying that a person is hostage to employers and middle-men.
