Contract irregularities
The revelations about irregularities in the tenders and contracts of the Athens 2004 Olympic organizing committee, according to allegations by two former members of a three-member auditing committee, unfortunately came as old news to most of the public. However, new evidence has emerged concerning inexcusable delays in completing contracts and tenders. |

Modern administration
Last week's Chinook helicopter crash and the government's poor response to the crisis catapulted the theme of «modern administration» onto center stage. The more advanced western states have long addressed this question, which arises from the modern world's complex structure; interaction among a plethora of internal and external factors; and a wide range of economic, social, and national interests that put, often conflicting, demands on a democratic government. |

‘Informed citizens’ of the Greek State...
The job of the government is to manage the State, not to substitute it. The State theoretically exists for the benefit of the nation and its citizens, regardless of which government is heading it.
On the other hand, the outlook of Greeks is shaped by their social reality.
Every government does whatever it pleases with the state machine, so, in that sense, the government is the State. |
