Reshuffle will step up government performance
A government reshuffle that would be no more than a public relations stunt serving the needs of the conservative leadership or New Democracy's own balance of power is something the country does not need. The current period is very crucial for the future of Greece and leaves no margin for such childish games. At this moment, 22 months since it was formed, the conservative administration of Costas Karamanlis appears to require a shake-up.
COMMENTARY
Time for a reality check
Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis completed his three-day trip to China escorted by some of his government's most senior ministers as well as businessmen. During the course of his visit, the Greek premier signed a number of agreements, discussed the access of local ports by Chinese ships as their gateway to Europe, the export of Greek olive oil and ways to attract Chinese tourists to Greece.
