EDITORIAL
Strategic plans, not brochures
It's a welcome sign that amid the scorching heat wave, the Development Ministry has been distributing information bulletins advising the residents of the capital against wasting electricity these difficult days. However, it would have been even more beneficial if the government had hammered out a comprehensive plan to deal with the chronic power shortages.
COMMENTARY
Frozen time
The pre-election scene has just a few roles and only a small repertoire of works is presented every four years. But there's always a miracle maker who is undaunted by the skeptics who question his magical skills - including foes in the same camp with the ambition to become «caliph in place of the caliph.»
OPINION
Climate change and air conditioning
The recent scorching weather reminds me of similar scenes 20 years ago. We were all literally baking in the massive pressure cooker that Attica had become. Millions of people locked up in their tiny air-conditioned concrete boxes, hiding from the relentless heat outside.
