Six hikers die in flash flood Trip organizers charged with manslaughter; two walkers still missing

The two owners of the company that organized a hiking expedition in the western Peloponnese on Saturday, which ended in tragedy when at least six people were killed in flash floods, yesterday faced an investigating magistrate on charges of manslaughter and causing bodily harm through neglect.

The pain exploiters
The death of six hikers who were swept away by a flash flood along the banks of the Lousios mountain river in southern Greece has left the public in a state of shock. A second shock came when the media, or at least the majority, began covering the event in their usual cannibalistic fashion.
COMMENTARY
Distorting screens
Coolheadedness, if not objectivity, is supposed to be a fundamental quality in journalism. In this job there is no room for politics or friendship. Otherwise, there is no sense in claiming to be a journalist, which involves searching for the truth.
