EDITORIAL
The day after the catastrophe
After the devastating forest fires that have ravaged thousands of hectares and killed two people, empty words and apologies by state officials are completely pointless. There is only one thing to be done: We need to study and evaluate the performance of those that were assigned to protect all that has been reduced to ash.
COMMENTARY
Out-of-touch politicians
The public frustration caused by repeated power cuts as the country sweltered under a heat wave once again underscored the failure of politicians to deal with day-to-day problems because of petty politicking. «But what could politicians have done about the heat wave?» one might ask. «Could they have kept it outside Greece?»
OPINION
Why do we hide our prosperity?
When we are asked how we view life, we complain that nothing is right. If you speak to a motorist, he will say that the situation on the roads is out of control, that all other drivers are potential killers behind the wheel.
