Minister heralds crackdown on racist violence in Greek schools
Deputy Education Minister Symeon Kedikoglou on Friday heralded the activation of an observatory to crack down on violence in schools and in particular on racially-motivated violence which has been widely linked to the infiltration of the neofascist Golden Dawn to schools around the country.
The observatory will oversee an official in each region who will coordinate with an appointed teacher in every school whom pupils will be advised to approach when reporting incidents of racist violence, Kedikoglou told the Athens-Macedonia News Agency.
He added that the activities aimed at curbing racist violence in school would be promoted over the Internet.
