Workers’ walkouts paralyze transport

A commuter sits inside the Athens International Airport metro station Tuesday when air traffic controllers staged a work stoppage during a 24-hour strike by unions in protest at the provisions of the government’s growth bill. The action also paralyzed public transport and left ferries moored in ports. Unions say the planned reforms, which are aimed at lifting restrictions to investment, will compromise workers’ rights.
