All political parties agree that in normal countries there is no need for police to guard closed universities. Interestingly, there’s no consensus on how normal institutions are meant to operate.

Those who now protest the police presence would be more convincing had they reacted when the campus was a hotbed of illegal activity. It would seem that some people want to stir tensions and fantasize about a fresh uprising. Their plans will come undone only if the relevant state bodies move professionally and responsibly.
