‘Smart’ pedestrian crossing inaugurated in central Athens

Attica Governor Giorgos Patoulis and conservative Euro MP Stelios Kympouropoulos, who is a wheelchair user, Thursday inaugurated the first ‘smart’ pedestrian crossing in central Athens. Regional authorities aim to introduce a total of 200 such crossings across the capital. The new system features phosphorescent lights and transmits sounds and pulsating alarms for the visually impaired people. [InTime News]
