The endurance of democracy

Over the past four years, American democracy has experienced dramatic moments during which its very existence seemed to be at stake.

Wednesday’s passing of the baton with the inauguration of US President Joe Biden served as a confirmation that America’s institutions are too deeply rooted to die.

Western democracy, whether in Greece during the economic crisis or at the US Capitol, can be shaken. But in the end, it endures.
