Karamanlis statue unveiled in Thessaloniki
A statute of late Greek Prime Minister and President Constantine Karamanlis was unveiled in Thessaloniki yesterday on the northern port city’s seafront promenade. Karamanlis formed the first government after the fall of the military dictatorship in 1974 and guided Greece to membership of the European Economic Community in 1981. He died in 1998.
