Dimoula, Boukalas win state awards

Poet Kiki Dimoula was awarded the Greek State Prize for Literature for 2010, while poet and Kathimerini columnist Pantelis Boukalas was named the recipient of the Greek State Prize for Poetry. Announced by the Greek Ministry of Culture on February 14, the state awards for 2010 also included prizes for the literary publications ?Diavazo and ?To Dentro,? among others.

An acclaimed poet and member of the Athens Academy, Dimoula has earned numerous awards and distinctions, while her work has been translated into English, French, German, Swedish and Danish, among other languages.

Boukalas?s distinction was awarded for ?Rimata? (Verbs), a collection of works published by Agra.
