Almost live from London: Sir Derek Jacobi as King Lear

Sir Derek Jacobi as King Lear was certainly one of the most anticipated performances on London?s theater scene this season. Directed by Michael Grandage at Covent Garden?s Donmar Warehouse, Shakespeare?s masterpiece opened in December for a series of performances that ended earlier this month.

Thanks to a live simulcast, on February 3 the theater?s 250-seat capacity was extended to include viewers in 300 cinemas in 22 countries. The broadcast was part of Britain?s National Theater Live series.
