MadWalk: Take two

It?s a case of fashion meets music for a good cause. The second edition of MadWalk, an event showcasing local music acts clad in Greek fashion designer gear, is taking place at the Tae Kwon Do stadium at the Faliro Sports Pavilion on the southern coast of Athens, on Wednesday, February 8.

Similarly to last year?s event, part of the evening?s proceeds will benefit the activities of Elpida, the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer.

The roster of participating artists includes popular acts Sakis Rouvas, Michalis Hadziyiannis, Natasha Theodoridou, Elena Paparizou, Eleni Foureira and hip-hop pioneers Goin? Through.

In terms of fashion, the MadWalk catwalk will welcome a variety of styles from established names like Loukia, Celia Kritharioti, Angelos Bratis, Angelos Frentzos, Deux Hommes and Apostolos Mitropoulos, along with rising talent Delight and Cyprus-born Efi Papaioannou. One of the evening?s highlights will be the Greek catwalk debut of ?Kore,? a new line by London-based designer Sophia Kokosalaki, produced in collaboration with Asos, Britain?s leading online fashion and beauty outlet.

MadWalk is organized by local music television channel Mad and Vodafone mobile telecommunications, and will be hosted by model/presenter Vicky Kagia, television host Mary Synatsaki and singer Costas Martakis. Coordinating the event on a creative level are fashion editor Michalis Pantos and choreographer Constantinos Rigos.

Tickets for the event cost 20 and 30 euros and are on sale at Vodafone stores in Attica and selected Vodafone outlets around Greece, Metropolis (54 Panepistimiou
