‘Tartan noir’ ace in Athens
Fans of Scottish crime fiction writer Ian Rankin can meet him next week in Athens. Rankin, author of the Inspector Rebus series of crime novels and practitioner of the Scots Gothic genre that has come to be known as «tartan noir,» has been invited by the British Council. He will be in Athens on May 13 for the launch of the second of his books to be translated into Greek for Metaichmio publishers. There will be readings from his work. Translators Alexandra Kontaxaki, who translated «Resurrection Men,» and Greek crime writer Neni Efthymiadou will also be present. Ioniko Kentro, 11 Lyseiou, Plaka, 8.30 p.m.
