Melodia radio marathon

This kind of event rarely happens on radio. All day long today, on the eve of World Music Day and just before the summer concert season kicks off, Melodia FM 99.2 is holding an 18-hour radio meeting. Acting as guest stars are prominent interpreters of Greek song. The 18 artists scheduled to go on live will present their own favorites, both Greek and foreign tunes and will talk about their summer concert plans, which will take them all over Greece. «It was an ambitious idea,» said Odysseas Ioannou, Melodia’s director, to Kathimerini. «To gather all the artists and their favorite songs. And at the same time for them to announce their summer appearances.» A similar radio marathon organized by Melodia a few months ago featured prominent politicians, athletes and journalists. So tune in for lots of Greek music at 99.2 starting at 9 a.m. today. The schedule is as follows: Christos Nikolopoulos (9 to 10 a.m.), Yiannis Kotsiras (10 to 11 a.m.), Mario Frangoulis (11 a.m. to 12 p.m.) Eleni Tsaligopoulou (12 to 1 p.m.), Alkinoos Ioannidis (1 to 2 p.m.), Manolis Lidakis (2 to 3 p.m.), Michalis Hadziyiannis (3 to 4 p.m.), Dimitra Galani (4 to 5 p.m.), Nikos Portokaloglou (5 to 6 p.m.), Giorgos Dalaras (6 to 7 p.m.), Socrates Malamas (7 to 8 p.m.), Thanos Mikroutsikos and Christos Thivaios (8 to 9 p.m.), Vassilis Papaconstantinou (9 to 10 p.m.), Dimitris Mitropanos (10 to 11 p.m.), Dimitris Basis (11 p.m. to 12 a.m.) and Stamatis Kraounakis (12 to 2 a.m.).
