Greek film en route to Golden Globe awards
A first feature film by Greek actor-director Christoforos Papakaliatis, “An” (What If), figures on the preliminary list of candidates in the best foreign picture category for the annual Golden Globe awards, Kathimerini understands. The prestigious television and film awards are bestowed by the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).
Papakaliatis’s comedy-drama, a major box-office success at home, is scheduled to be screened at New York’s landmark Ziegfeld Theater on Thursday, as part of the 7th New York City Greek City Film Festival, before heading to Los Angeles for a screening on October 15.
The final list of nominees for the Golden Globe awards will be announced on December 12.
