Music under a full moon at Delphi
The archaeological site of Delphi, just under 180 kilometers northwest of Athens, will be hosting a free-entrance three-day classical music festival on the weekend of July 11 to 13, the last day of which will coincide with a full moon, promising visitors a magical experience.
Sponsored by the European Cultural Center of Delphi, the Association of Friends of Music and the Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, the festival, which will include works by Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi and other classical composers, will take place outdoors at the Archaeological Museum on Friday, the Roman Forum on Saturday, and in the atrium of the European Cultural Center on Sunday.
In addition to a variety of professional artists, the Camerata Junior – the Friends of Music Youth Orchestra will perform the premiere of George Konstantinidis’s “Song.”
Performances begin at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 p.m. on Sunday.
