Calling all die-hard ‘Lord of the Rings’ movie fans: Get ready for triple treat

A white-knuckle wait is almost over for fans of Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s «Lord of the Rings» trilogy whose third and final installment, «The Return of the King,» is due to hit theaters worldwide tomorrow. Ticket sales for the series since «The Two Towers» and «The Fellowship of the Ring» came out in 2002 and 2003 respectively suggest that tomorrow will see two types of moviegoers: Those who reserved a seat in advance and those who will camp outside the movie theaters well before the screening to grab a place. But die-hard fans are being offered a treat by Village cinemas today: The entire three-part series in just one evening – 10-odd hours of fantasy and adventure in one solid tranche (For screening information check cinema listings below.) The catch, however, a move meant to preserve the thrill for tomorrow’s worldwide premiere, is that tickets (at 7 euros each) must be purchased for all three screenings, irrespective of whether filmgoers intend to watch them.
