Cinematic Argonauts set to hit the screens in 2004

The new film production company Argonaftes (Argonauts) is making its debut with two films by young Greek directors: Alexandros Aristopoulos’s «Paizei o Theos me to Alatopipero» (God is Playing with Salt and Pepper) and Panos Koutras’s «Alithini Zoi» (Real Life), Koutras’s second feature film after his cult hit «Attack of the Giant Moussaka.» Both films are now in the post-production stage, which means that filming has been completed and that the works will hit the cinemas in 2004. What is important is that both films have already found distribution companies. Aristopoulos’s film will be carried by Prooptiki and Koutras’s by Playtime. The storyline of Aristopoulos’s film, written by Athina Doussaki, is the daily routine of two young people who yearn for change in their lives. Fotini, trapped in a long-term relationship, and Stamatis, trapped in his daily routine, face a variety of coincidences which, it turns out, were not random at all. The leading characters are played by Anatoli Athanassiadou, Iosif Polyzoidis, Costas Kappas, Elisavet Moutafi, Giorgos Velentzas and others. In his second film, Koutras once more plays with the rules of drama. Aris, the son of a wealthy Athenian family, returns to Athens after a long absence. Determined to make a new start, he embarks upon an internal journey seeking his identity, his past and his family. Koutras collaborated with Panayiotis Evangelidis on the script. The film stars Themis Bazaka, Nikos Kouris, Anna Mouglalis, Marina Kalogirou, Maria Panourgia, Odysseas Papaspiliopoulos, Yiannis Diamantis and others.
