Dimitris Parthenis, fashion designer, dies
A lover of minimalism, fashion designer Dimitris Parthenis died in Athens on Saturday. He was 74.
A free spirit who transmitted his creative vision through fluid silhouettes and body-friendly fabrics, Parthenis developed a Greek brand with a global reach. His daughter, Orsalia Parthenis, is currently the brand's creative director.
A funeral service for Parthenis will be held on Monday at the Church of Aghios Dionysios Areopagitis in Kolonaki, central Athens, at 1.30 p.m. The family has asked mourners to make donations to Pnoi Zois, an association of volunteers assisting cancer patients and members of their families operating at the Aghios Savvas hospital in Athens, instead of depositing funeral wreaths.
