Kedros books go outdoors

This summer Kedros Publishers had the bright idea of taking its books to the people, outdoors, that is. In busy Korai Square, right in the center of downtown Athens, alongside the exit of the Panepistimiou metro stop, Kedros has set up a bookstall featuring its Greek Modern Writers series. The idea is to make contemporary Greek writing better known to the Anglophone public. The series includes works by some of Greece’s best-known writers – Dido Sotiriou, Stratis Tsirkas, Yiannis Ritsos, Giorgos Ioannou, Maro Douka and Menis Koumandareas among them. Also on sale are English translations of books on Ancient Greek architecture, tourist guides and children’s literature. The bookstall will be open until September 15, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
