Toronto gets its Greek bookstore
A new bookstore carrying Greek titles was recently launched in Toronto, Canada. The Eleftheroudakis chain opened a new outlet earlier this month within a major downtown bookstore complex, Chapters. It follows the successful opening of another store in Montreal a year earlier. Sofika Eleftheroudaki of Eleftheroudakis described the venture as «not just a commercial challenge but a Greek culture proposal.» Guests at the opening ceremony included novelist Ioustini Frangouli and officials from the Greek Embassy and the Greek-Canadian Association.
