As the Athens Concert Hall prepares for an active new season, beginning October 6, a new box office is already welcoming any of the public who wish to acquire tickets for upcoming performances. The new box office – complementing the one housed in the Concert Hall – is located at 8 Omirou Street. Its opening hours are Mondays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. October opening Already on sale at both box offices are tickets for the season’s curtain raiser, the ballet Giselle, a performance featuring celebrated soloists Julia Makhalina, Igor Zelenski, Diana Vishneva and Vladimir Malakhov. Performances will take place on October 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 and 13. The two-act ballet written by Adolphe Adam will be staged as choreographed by Greek choreographer Leonidas de Pian, based on the classical choreography by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot. It will feature the Sofia State Opera’s corps de ballet as well as the Athens State Orchestra under the direction of Robert Luther. Following Giselle, Russian piano virtuoso Elisabeth Leonskaja will give one concert on October 16 and young soprano sensation Charlotte Church will appear on October 29.
