Change of guard, change of time
In Athens, deserted for the long weekend, Greek President Karolos Papoulias continued the official program for yesterday’s national day, attending a church service and the military parade in his first official appearance. At the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where wreaths were laid, the presidential guard of Evzones changed guard with their characteristic gait, marking the beginning of summer time, already heralded by the rising temperatures that packed the beaches.
