The publication of «Grammar of Modern Greek» by Christos Klairis and Georgios Babinitios, the most advanced work of its type, is a major event. Publishers Ellinika Grammata are presenting the book on April 11, in Athens University’s ceremonial hall at 7.30 p.m. New anthology Talisman House Publishers present «Modern Greek Poetry: An Anthology» edited by Nanos Valaoritis and Thanassis Maskaleris on April 11 at the Hellenic American Union (22 Massalias, 7.30 p.m., tel 210.368.0900). Some of the poets, including Katerina Anghelaki-Rooke, Rhea Galanaki, Titos Patrikios, Dinos Siotis and Andonis Fostieris, will read their work in Greek and English. Pop party Kedros is having a pop party in honor of writer Zeffi Kolia at 9.30 p.m. on April 11 at Alchimistis Bar (3 Christokopidou & Karaiskaki, Psyrri). Kolia’s latest book, «Pop Cafe – The Hangout of the Strange Creatures,» came out in December. Meet author Patakis publishers and Evripides sti Stoa bookstore (11 A. Papandreou, Halandri, tel 210.680.0644) invite readers to meet Soti Triantafyllou tonight at the launching of her novella «Synghoresi» (Forgiveness). Libraries Martin Gomez, president of the Urban Libraries Council, will lecture on Library Networking at 7.30 p.m. today at the Hellenic American Union (22 Massalias, tel 210.368.0900). The event is organized by the American Embassy’s Information Resource Center in support of the Standing Committee for Library Promotion.
