Remembering children in need at Easter

As Greek Orthodox Easter approaches, and with it the tradition of exchanging gifts, we all owe a thought for those children who are in need of our thoughts and our gifts all year round. The Cerebral Palsy Association, headed by Daphne Economou, who has received an award from the president of the republic, and the association’s general secretary, Maro Linardatou, are organizing an Easter Bazaar this Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the National Research Foundation, 48 Vas. Constantinou Avenue. Books, clothing, toys, crafts and wonderful paintings by the children of the association will be on sale. Also at the bazaar will be a buffet of island specialities, with ouzo, wine and sweets. And let’s not forget the Easter cards with spring designs by well-known artists such as Meropi Preka, Michalis Makroulakis, M. Voudouroglou, G. Stavropoulou and scenes from the Karaghiozis shadow-puppet theater by Evgenios Spatharis.
