Tomorrow: New Greek Quartet, Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall, works by Lialios, Sicilianos, Dragatakis and Kalafatis. Sunday: Lyravlos Ensemble and the Greek Byzantine Choir, National Glyptotheque (Goudi), music from antiquity and Byzantine hymns. May 9: National Greek Opera Chamber Orchestra, Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall, works by Antoniou, Koumentakis, Poniridis, Evangelatos and Karyotakis. May 10: Athens Municipal Symphony Orchestra, Friends of Music Hall, works by Koudouroff, Vrontos, Christou, Christodoulou and Skalkottas. Music conference Tomorrow-May 9: Running parallel to the series of concert is a conference titled «Greek Music in the Era of Globalization,» scheduled to take place at the Athens Concert Hall’s Conference Center. The event is co-organized by the Athens Concert Hall, the Athens State Orchestra and the Department of Music Studies at the University of Athens. Similar to the concerts, the conference will cover a broad range of subjects, featuring keynote speeches on a variety of themes spanning ancient Greek music, contemporary musical creation, folk tradition and Greek song. On all three days, the sessions will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hall No. 1. Athens Concert Hall, 1 Kokkali & Vas. Sofias, tel 210.728.2333.
