Vetaran German rockers inaugurate new stadium as concert venue tonight

At a time when new rock stars come and go, there are still a few values left unaffected by time. This is why it’s hardly surprising that tickets for tonight’s live appearance by the Scorpions are being snapped up at such a pace. The legendary rock group is returning to Greece and is scheduled to act as the curtain raiser for the stadium in its new capacity as a concert venue. (On Wednesday, the band will travel to Thessaloniki to make an appearance at the Gis Theater.) Founded in Hanover in 1969, the Scorpions reached their peak with 1990’s «Crazy World» album. At the Karaiskaki concert, the timeless rockers will appear on a 24-meter stage. The Scorpions take the stage at the Karaiskaki Stadium today at 9.30 p.m. For ticket information, call 210.729.8995. For tickets: Virgin Megastores, Neoset outlet (Vouliagmenis Avenue, tel 210.995.7320) Ticket Shop (tel 8011.005.000) and Karaiskaki Stadium (10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m.).
