Business against human trafficking

On January 23 at the Zappeion Hall there will be a round table discussion titled «The business community against human trafficking,» an event that will mark the beginning of a global campaign titled «End Human Trafficking Now» at the instigation of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Marianna Vardinoyianni, who is a board member of the «Suzanne Mubarak International Women’s Movement for Peace,» which is organizing the campaign. The event is under the auspices of the Foreign Ministry with the cooperation of the International Alliance «Women for Peace,» the World Bank, the International Migration Organization, the Armed Forces Monitoring Center in Geneva, the UN’s World Development Fund for Women and the Foundation for the Child and the Family in Greece. The purpose of the discussion is to make the business community aware of the problem and to commit to a code of moral principles. Apart from prominent business people, the meeting will also be attended by representatives of international organizations and non-governmental organizations, and experts of international repute. Sponsors are Motor Oil (Hellas SA). There will be a benefit dinner in aid of the global campaign on January 23.
