UK writers at Thessaloniki Book Fair

The Thessaloniki Book Fair, May 25-28, has attracted participants from around the world. A lively program of events includes encounters with writers, tastings of wine, cheese, tea and chocolate – in keeping with the theme of «wine and other delights,» meetings for book professionals, film screenings and loads of creative activities for children. There’ll be a British flavor too, from events organized by the British Council, which has a stand at the fair. Welsh crime writer Niall Griffiths will submit to an interrogation on his work by fellow practitioner of the genre, Paul Johnston, and will sign copies of his books on May 26. British-Pakistani writer Kamila Shamsie will meet the public and sign books on May 28. Paul Johnston will lead creative writing workshops May 27 and 28 (advanced). And the BC will present the short stories that won the Tales from the City, Stories from the Sea competition for young writers. Information: Chryssoula Medouli, tel 2310.378.314
