MARIA LOUKA
‘Kalimera’ She was born in the city of Iraklion, Crete, where she began her musical studies in piano and theory. She moved to Athens to enhance her musical education but was won over by music itself. At the age of 23, she has already tested herself onstage alongside the likes of Dionysis Savvopoulos, Nikos Papazoglou, and Socrates Malamas, with whom she continues to collaborate. Louka is now testing her vocal and songwriting strength in an exceptional new album for which she wrote the lyrics and music. «Kalimera» features 12 songs documenting a clear, womanly look at both the major and minor issues of everyday life and examining the chronic anxiety over tomorrow as well as the travails of love.
