Fassianos shows work in Mexico
Alekos Fassianos has just come back from Mexico, with his eyes «full of the colors of the houses and nature that is similar to Greece,» he wrote to us. He showed his exhibition «Modern Myth» there, which presents the mythical dimension of modern life. His outsized heroes, living statues, send out their own messages and retain the prestige of their ancient roots in contemporary reality. The exhibition, held under the aegis of the Greek Embassy in Mexico, was a great success. He traveled with his wife, gallerist Mariza Kalogeropoulou. Instead of treading the conventional tourist path, they visited Frida Kahlo’s home, known as the Blue House, and the house of Ismael Fernandez, who made the film «La Cucaracha.»
