Greek works of art on sale in London
Works by 126 Greek artists are included in Sotheby’s Greek Sale on November 15 in London, preceded by an exhibition of the works on auction from November 10-14 at its New Bond Street building. The focus of interest for prospective buyers are the paintings of Nikolaos Gyzis, including «The New Arrival,» on auction for the first time. Like all of Gyzis’s paintings, this one tells a story. The entire family, including the dog, is welcoming a newborn baby, possibly the artist’s fifth child Telemachos.
