Stamp lovers’ treat
Hellenic Post is offering the public the choice of postage stamps with photographs on themes such as human relations, faces, the world, the Earth, the Acropolis and Artemis in sheets of 10 stamps of 0.52 euros each. They went on sale at all post offices on March 12 and will be available until March 11 2008, or as long as supplies last. There will also be a business series with personal logos, portraits and family photographs in combination with Greek subjects. An envelope bearing photographs of loved ones, with a photo of the Parthenon alongside, will become collectors’ items. Hellenic Post says the stamps can add a personal touch to birthday party invitations, birth announcements or christenings. Apart from post offices, the Central Philatelic Store (2 Vyssis & Aiolou, 10188 Athens) will be stocking the series.
