Gstaad without snow but in the glow of Depy’s jewelry
Waiting for the snow that never came in Gstaad, the jewelry designer Depy Chandris – whose personality was admired by Andy Warhol himself when he first met her in New York when she was a young woman – gave her annual dinner party to present her latest collection, by private appointment only. At the Grand Hotel Park and the Marco Polo Restaurant, Depy received her friends, who stay at their own chalets in Gstaad, along with the local establishment and VIP regulars at the winter resort which is always romantic, even without snow. Among the guests were Alexandre de Musset, the great-grandson of the French writer Alfred de Musset, with his mother Genevieve Dalle; Giorgos Tornaritis, head of the Foundation for Marine Life, with Depy’s sister Christy; and German Ambassador Holger Eberle and his wife and two sons. Among the guests from Greece were Aliki Goulandris, Karolos and Nineta Fix, Giorgos and Maria Embirikos, and Christine Paraskevaidis. Then all of a sudden, the snow arrived, unable to resist Depy’s invitation.
