Stanford Club of Greece’s Athens Business Forum

Graduates in Greece of Stanford University are holding a business forum titled «Leading Growth,» in collaboration with the Executive Education Bureau of Stanford Graduate School of Business on April 24 at the Athens Hilton. For the first time in Greece, two world famous professors of the school, Robert Burgelman and Hayagreeva Rao, will speak on innovations and strategies that lead to business growth and the challenges facing businesses seeking to expand. The speeches will be followed by an open discussion with the participation of Giorgos Gerardos (CEO of Plaisio SA), Yiannis Daskalantonakis (Executive Director of Grecotel), Spyros Theodoropoulos (managing director of Vivartia), Titos Komninos (executive vice-president of Shelman, SA), Efthimios Bouloutas (managing director of Marfin Bank) and Apostolos Tamvakakis (CEO of Lamda Development). The forum closes with a dinner at which the keynote speaker will be Theodoros Papalexopoulos, former president of the Association of Greek Industries and former vice-president and managing director of Titan. US Ambassador Charles Ries will address the forum. Stanford’s faculty and research staff includes 18 Nobel prizewinners in science and economics, including Milton Friedman, four Pulitzer prizewinners and two US secretaries of state, George Schultz and Condoleezza Rice. Author John Steinbeck is also a graduate.
