Writing workshops
Applications have begun for the next series of writing workshops run by the National Book Center of Greece (EKEBI) and European Translation Center (EKEMEL) from October 8 to December 14. There are some new faces on the team, as Evgenia Fakinou (novel), Tatiana Averoff (historical novel), Sotiris Dimitriou and Giorgos Romanos (short stories), Haris Vlavianos and Evripidis Garantoudis (poetry), Christos Boulotis (children’s literature), and Andreas Staikos (theater) join other well-known writers in conducting the workshops. New subjects, such as historical fiction, the novella, poetic meter and theater, have been added to the program, which also includes a seminar on journalism, criticism and literature by Vangelis Hatzivassileiou. Workshops for book professionals cover artistic bookbinding, editing and foreign rights, and there are workshops for primary school pupils (info: Evi Gerokosta, tel 210.920.0332). The workshops are at EKEBI (4 Athanassiou Diakou Street, Makryianni, near the Acropolis metro station) and EKEMEL (2 Lykavittou & Academias). The closing date for applications is September 21.
