Voting starts Monday, November 12, for the Readers’ Prize, initiated by the National Book Center of Greece (EKEBI) and now in its third year. Readers can choose their favorite book from a short list of 10 Greek novels till December 2 by sending a text message with the code number of the book to 4160. This year the award will include the provinces, with 250 bookshops throughout Greece distributing leaflets, while radio and TV programs on the state-run ERT network will broadcast programs about the books and writers. This year for the first time a prize committee selected the short list. Film critics Alexis Zyras, Elisavet Kotzia and Vangelis Hatzivassileiou and author and EKEBI board member Dionysis Magliveras short-listed the following novels: «Jason Remvis’s Journey» by Christos Asteriou, published by Patakis (code BA 1); «One Life Two Lives» by Nikos Themelis, pub. Kedros (code BA 2); «Aphrodite’s Left Arm» by Takis Theodoropoulos, pub. Oceanida (BA 3); «Swell» by Ioanna Karystiani, pub. Kastaniotis (BA 4); «Room Temperature» by Dimitra Kolliakou, pub. Patakis (BA 5); «The Lost Library of Dimitris Mostras» by Dimitris Mamaloukas, pub. Kastaniotis (BA); «The Obsession with Spring» by Aris Marangopoulos, pub. Ellinika Grammata (BA 7); «Mr Episkopakis» by Andreas Mitsou, pub. Kastaniotis (BA 8); «Touch Typing System» by Vassilis Pesmazoglou, pub. Polis (BA 9); and «The Corn Man» by Dimitris Sotakis, pub.
