New Hellenistic studies center in Alexandria?

The Alexandros S. Onassis Foundation, which has for years made valuable contributions in the field of culture and education, is collaborating with the brand new Vardinoyiannis Foundation to establish an institute of Hellenistic studies at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The details will be announced at a press conference on Monday at the King George Hotel in Syntagma Square, in the presence of the library’s director Dr Ismail Serageldin. The invitation comes from Onassis Foundation President Antonis Papadimitriou and Unesco Goodwill Ambassador Marianna Vardinoyiannis, who is the only Greek woman on the board of the Bibliotheca.
