Fnac’s floor of literature

ooklovers in Glyfada can look forward to a new store in which to browse come springtime, when the French retail chain Fnac opens a new branch in the neighborhood. The third floor of the four-story building on the corner of S. Karagiorga and Lazaraki streets will be devoted to books, 30,000 titles in all. And, of course, the other floors will offer the rest of Fnac’s trademark mix of computer equipment, video games, CDs and DVDs. The influx of new stores can only benefit customers, as it means more choice and keeps competitors on their toes. Asked the about new player Public, on Syntagma Square, which carries similar products, Fnac’s Greek director Patrick Salomon told the press, «I see the real competition for us coming from the other places that sell books on Stadiou and Panepistimiou streets.»
