Centenary and launch
Come and celebrate M. Karagatsis Year next Tuesday, April 2, at the presentation of a commemorative volume marking the centenary of the writer’s birth. Culture Minister Michalis Liapis will proclaim 2008 the Year of Karagatsis. Petros Markaris, president of the National Book Center of Greece (EKEBI), and Professor Vangelis Athanasopoulos of Athens University will speak, while the writer’s daughter, Marina Karagatsi, will share memories of her father. Actors Dimitris Kata-leifos and Rania Economidou, stars of the television adaptation of Karagatsis’s acclaimed novel «10,» will read extracts from the book.
