Poetry and new titles

Kedros publications presents «Ap’ta kokkala vgalmena» (From the Bones), a new novel by Giorgos Dendrinos, depicting an ambitious doctor’s ordeals in public hospitals. Journalist Fivos Karzis, writer Marlena Politopoulou and literary critic Vangelis Hatzivassileiou will discuss the book and actor Stelios Mainas will read extracts. Byzantine reading Agra is launching a Greek edition of Italian Byzantinist Guglielmo Cavallo’s «Reading in Byzantium,» translated by Smaragda Tsohantaridou and Paolo Odorico, tomorrow at 8 p.m. The book is part of the publisher’s «Byzantina mathimata» (Byzantine Lessons) series. Geert Mak Popular Dutch writer Geert Mak is coming to Athens as the guest of the Royal Dutch Embassy, the Netherlands Institute of Athens and Metaichmio editions to launch the Greek edition of his book «In Europe: A Journey through the 20th Century.» Journalists Takis Kambylis, Yiannis Baskozos and Serapheim Fyntanidis will present the author and his work at noon on May 27.
