Treat for the eyes at airport

An exhibition showcasing sculptures as well as visual material tracing the work of leading Greek sculptor Giorgos Zongolopoulos will be running at Athens International Airport until the end of the year. The show has been organized with the support of the Giorgos Zongolopoulos Foundation. So before catching your next flight out, take a look at five of the artist’s landmark pieces. «Cor Ten» and «Olympic Circles,» two works based on bronze and stainless metal stand outside the departures lounge, while «Poseidon» and a small-scale version of «Zalongo» are on display inside the departures hall. A Zongolopoulos exhibition wouldn’t be complete without the artist’s renowned «Umbrellas» series, currently placed in a central spot at the airport. Following your return flight, an exhibition of photographs serving as a retrospective of the accomplished artist’s work is on display in the airport’s arrivals area.
