Dance students to make debut at Concert Hall

Students of the State School of Dance will take the stage at the Athens Concert Hall on June 26, 27, 28 and 29 to present «Dance Stories.» Leading international choreographers Vim Vandekeybus, Charles Linehan and Martin Lawrence, together with their Greek counterparts Constantinos Rigos and Michalis Nalbadis, were invited by the school’s director, Pavlina Veremi, to choreograph 14 students. Vandekeybus, the founder of contemporary Flemish dance, is choreographing Greek students for the first time and will present «Scratching the Inner Fields,» an innovative piece which was presented during the Kalamata Dance Festival last year. Charles Linehan, the London Contemporary Dance Theater’s permanent choreographer, who is renowned for the study involved in the movement and the precision of his work, has choreographed a piece called «The Secret,» while Martin Lawrence, who takes a minimal approach to dance, will present «Gray Allegro.» Constantinos Rigos will show his surreal, «Shipwreck,» and Michalis Nalbadis will present «Habitus – The Road Known as Straight,» a playful, athletic piece.
